Management Studio Save Changes DialogCan anyone tell me how to get Sql Server Management Studio to stop asking me
if I want to save changes every time I shut it down? There was an option to stop that in Query Analyzer: "Do not prompt for unsaved files on closure." If they knew enough to put that in QA, why on earth take it out for SSMS? Or else it's hidden so well in the options that I can't find it, and believe me, I've looked. Even a registry setting would be welcomed. Your help is appreciated. Fred,
I'm afraid that there is no such option. I have been requesting this and discussing this with MS but nothing yet. You might want to raise your voice about this (for a later version) at http://connect.microsoft.com/sqlserver. -- Show quoteTibor Karaszi, SQL Server MVP http://www.karaszi.com/sqlserver/default.asp http://sqlblog.com/blogs/tibor_karaszi "Fred Sawtelle" <FredSawte***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9EB437C2-277F-42C9-8DA1-CB4757F01D26@microsoft.com... > Can anyone tell me how to get Sql Server Management Studio to stop asking me > if I want to save changes every time I shut it down? Last thing I heard is that they are pushing it for the release after SQL 2008, which is nothing but a shame. But I appreciate if you can go to https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=124686 and cast your vote, even if the issue is closed. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esq***@sommarskog.se Books Online for SQL Server 2005 at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/downloads/books.mspx Books Online for SQL Server 2000 at http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/previousversions/books.mspx Thanks, Tibor and Erland. As if I as a customer would care about that! Anwyay, a Microsoft developer inspired me to a request which essentially is a better idea: let's have nameless windows that do not require saving, while windows tied to files still would require saving.
