SSMS Pain in the buttexecute and slide the execution window over to monitor 2 and run my stored proc.... I come home, open SSMS, right click on my stored proc and select execute and I see Execute Procedure minimized on the task bar. Where the the execution tool box??? It is opening in hyperspace to the right of my laptop. SSMS is supposed to sense when I do not have two monitors connected and adjust its top/left corrdinates accordingly. MS wrote the OS, MS wrote SSMS. Go figure! I have searched the registry for the settings but to no avail. The only solution, other then drive to work, is to connect another monitor to y laptop, open the stored proc in execution mode and drag the window back to the main monitor. What a pain in the butt. Thanks MS Am Sun, 9 Sep 2007 11:27:06 -0400 schrieb Larry Killen:

And i heard that some nVidia drivers let you define a bigger resolution than the monitor has. And when the mouse reaches the extension of the monitor, the desktop aperture slides around by itself. Cannot test this with my environment but maybe you or other people can do something with this information ... bye, Helmut never used 2 monitors with SSMS, but would this help?

But this is a MS OS screw up They publish the API callback to inform applications of the video status. I use it in my applications to detect video status and adjust my programs accordingly since many of my customers use 2 monitors. It just seems ironic that the very company that designed the OS cannot adhere to their own rules. most windows have a "move" context menu. You might be able to right click the taskbar (window icon bar thing) click "move" (DON'T click or use the mouse after clicking "move") Use the arrow keys, probably left in your case hold down the left arrow key and your window will move into view.
