SS2005 Mngmnt Studio - how to disable / "turn off" UNICODE??

Hi,
I never had this issue in the "text" results pane of SQL Server 200, but
when I save the "text" results in SS2005, the results end up with UNICODE
encoding.

I then have to open the file in Notepad, do a "File->Save As", changing the
"Encoding" option to ASCII, then save the file.

This is simply inexcusable and intolerable as an option.

I'm sure I missed some setting (I hope).

Thanks.

In the Save dialog, there is an arrow on the right. There you can pick
"Select with encoding" to make a choice on how to save the file.

Erland,

Yes,  I see on the "Save" button there is a drop-down arrow that has two
choices:
1.)  Save
2.)  Save With Encoding (UNICODE, ANSI, or Chinese)

Isn't there a default setting somewhere in Management Studio (registry?!) so
that I can set the default to ANSI instead of UNICODE?

Thanks.
