What is 'asdb' and whether or not it should be backed upWe developed a DB for our customer using MS Access and upsized it to
SQL Server. Our customer does daily back up of his DB and he asked me whether or not 'asdb' should be backed up as well. My question is: what is 'asdb' and whether or not it should be backed up. Any information or web links will be appreciated. Thanks, Mark. Mark,
Are you using CA Brightstor for backups? I am not sure I understand 100% your last posting. In any way, we use SQL Server as the backend for the customer's database. And it seems to me (but I am not sure) that 'asdb' is created by the backup software that is appear to be CA Brightstor. But we don't know the purposes of 'asdb' and don't know whether or not we need to back it up as well. Thanks. Chris Wood wrote: Show quote > Then has backend database 'asdb' is on the server. propriety database or MS SQL as its backend database to retain all information about the servers/folders/file being backed up and to where. If the asdb database is connected to your SQL Server then back it up as if you need to run a restore using Brightstor and asdb was corrupted you would not be able to do it.
