Display Execution Plan Hangs

Hi all,

I have a complex query inside a stored procedure.
When I try to diplay estimated execution plan in query analyzer, it hangs.
And then I have to stop the query. When I click the stop button it QA returns
Syntax Errror, but the query is ok.
I did the same test in another environment (with the same tables, but less
data) and it works...
I have SQL Server 2000, service pack 3a.
Any ideas?
