Looking for Database comparison/synchronizing toolI've read a lot of info but would like to hear from you all who've actually
used these tools. I'm sure you've made purchases that didn't live up to your expectations. We are using SQL Server 2000 and will eventually move to 2005. We use merge replication. The ones that look the best to me are Red Gate and SQL Delta. I want to hear your experiences both good and bad. And, let me know if you have another tool you really like. Thanks, -- Matthew Mark I have nothing but good things to say about using Red Gate
for this. Definitely met expectations. -Sue On Tue, 3 Oct 2006 08:19:01 -0700, Matthew Mark <MatthewM***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: Show quote >I've read a lot of info but would like to hear from you all who've actually >used these tools. BTW - did you move or just dump the site you had with the log shipping scripts you had up there? I was looking for it to refer someone to it quite awhile back and your site was gone. Any plans to resurrect it? -Sue On Tue, 3 Oct 2006 15:32:36 -0500, "Keith Kratochvil" <sqlguy.bac***@comcast.net> wrote: Show quote >I second that opinion. I
will look around for the old pages/info that I had online and try to get it posted somewhere. This info is much appreciated, if I may I would like to extend this a little further. I am looking for a product (I have no idea who makes it) called Key Change. I can't seem to find it via search, but have heard it is a great product. It supposedly allows you to completely remap an entire SQL database. Is anyone aware of this product? If so caould someone point me in the right direction? SQL Server Central. There are a lot of people using log shipping in 2000 on standard edition - in other words no wizard. You did have some decent info on your site for that scenario. -Sue On Tue, 3 Oct 2006 16:36:05 -0500, "Keith Kratochvil" <sqlguy.bac***@comcast.net> wrote: Show quote >Wow, I am surprised that people are still referring to that old page.
