While in SQL Server Management Studio I right clicked and selected

Design Query in Editor ...

I am able to design a query in Query Designer, but I cannot Execute SQL, it
is ghosted out and I can't select it.

Using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio    9.00.2047.00

Installed a service pack last week.

Andy,

Thank you for providing the feedback in this space. The design decison for
Yukon was to have existing behaviour. We considered the approach proposed,
unfortunatly the scope of changes required in order for a different approach
to work correctly is beoynd a service pack fix. We are tracking the request
in our database for considaration in future releases.

Keith,

I think I understand the response, but not all of it.

Right now I can create a new query and then right click within the query
window and select Design Query in Editor.  From there I can indeed design a
query.  I can not Execute SQL from Query Designer, but I can click OK and get
the SQL I have created back in the New Query window.  From there I can
Execute.

You will be working on being able to Execute SQL in Query Designer in some
later release?

Is this a correct interpretation?

Thanks,

Andy
