I have installed SQL Server 9.0.1399 ("SQL Server Standard Edition") on my
machine. I've also installed "Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express"
(because I couldn't find Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio NOT EXPRESS
ANYWHERE either in the SQL Server Install or to download from MS.com).

I was told that I could right-click on a database in the Managemebnt Console
and choose Tasks->Import Data. Yet when I go to Tasks, there is NO "Import
Data." There's Backup and Shrink and Detach, but no "Import Data." And I need
this!

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? DO I have the wrong version
of the SQL Management Console for 2005? If I do, can you please tell me
*exactly* where an MSDN Professional Subscriber can download it? All these
versions are makin' me NUTS!

Thanks!

Alex

Hi

SQL Server 2005 Management Studio is on Disk 2 of the distribution.
It is a selectable option during setup and is called "Workstation
Components".

If you run setup again, you will have the option to install the Workstation
Components, but un-install SSMS Express first.

SSMS 2005 Express has limited functionality as is intended to be used SQL
Server 2005 Express Edition (MSDE in SQL Server 2000)

Just a comment - I love MSFT and all of it's wonderful products. But you
realase so many levels of each of your products, with such confusing naming
and components, that it's impossible to know what there is, where it is, etc.
