week not available as drop option in db maint plan

Within EM i have 2 servers, the maint plan on the first server works fine,
the other one will not allow me to select "day/weeks" next to the "remove
files older than" box under the complete backup tab. It has sp3, new to this
company and a sql novice, any help is much appreciated.
