Font in SQL pane in 2005

SQL 2005's management studio, in the query designer, typically shows 4
panes just like the old Enterprise Manager: Diagram, Criteria, SQL, and
Results.

I was hoping that with SQL 2005 I would finally be able to change the font
in the SQL pane from the horrible Arial to something more readable like
Verdana.  I messed around with Tools/Options/Fonts and Colors, but nothing
seems to affect the font of the SQL pane.

Also, the font in the Criteria pane is too large.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

David,

The default font is New Courier, not Arial by the way.

Try
Tools>Options>Environment>Fonts and Colors
to change the font etc in the way you desire.

David was talking about the Query Designer, which indeed has a default
font of Arial, that you don't seem to be able to change.

Well, given all the other problems with the Query Designer, this is a
minor one.

As I mentioned to Andrew, that's too bad, and I was hoping that in SQL 2005
I could finally change this horrible font.

Oh well.  I'm disappointed.

Thanks for the reply.

AS I JUST SAID, Andrew, I already tried that, and it didn't seem to make
any difference.

I *hate* the Arial font; it's too hard to read things that have
lowercase i's and l's and to tell rn apart from m.

I was hoping that this would be ONE THING that would be an improvement
in SQL 2005 over SQL 2000.

Too bad.

Try;

'Fonts and Colors'

Grid Results and or Data Viewer (depending on what you want)

I tried that -- neither one affects the font in the Query Designer pane.

I'm not viewing data, and I'm not looking at grid results -- so those,
naturally, aren't the settings I want.  I need the apparently nonexistent
"Query Designer Pane" item.

It's working here. You must restart SSMS in order for changes to take
effect.

Yes, it did actually change the font once I restarted Management Studio.

And another reply said that it's called Data Viewer.  Now, THAT's certainly
obvious!

Thanks.

For what it's worth, I did NOT have to restart SSMS. And my default font was
Tahoma, not Arial.

Indeed, the Data Viewer is the ticket. Not very obvious!

DataViewer is the one that changes the Query Designer?  That's really
weird.
