[2005] SSMS - Setting tab size for query windows?

Tools | Options | Text Editor for SSMS offers two distinct sets of options:
Plain Text and XML. Since T-SQL isn't XML, I assumed that query windows
would be governed by the settings for Plain Text. However, I set my tab and
indent size to 3 (death to the 4-ists!!) and nothing has changed; my tabs
still show as 4 spaces (and yes, they're real tabs; Keep tabs is selected).
Am I missing something?

Yes, I have closed and reopened SSMS. Specifically, I have even rebooted the
machine since originally switching to 3. Oh, and not only has the tab size
not changed but it's also not auto-indenting (indenting is set to Block).
Argh!!

I played with this, and it had effect when I changed the settings for
all languages!
