[2005] Error screws up menu itemsSee if you can reproduce this issue:
1. Start Management Studio. 2. Enter a non-existent server name in the connection dialog and click Connect. 3. After it times out, click on the dropdown button at the bottom of the dialog (the one with the help icon). 4. Hover your mouse pointer over the second item (the corresponding text in the dialog should highlight). 5. Click the "Show technical details" button. 6. Click OK to dimiss the Advanced Details dialog that comes up. 7. Click OK to dimiss the error dialog. 8. Now see if any of your menu items work (i.e., drop down a menu). The only one that worked for me was the system menu. Hi Jeff,
Yes I can repro it on Management Studio RTM - I haven't installed SP1 (now available, by the way) yet. Some of your "OK" buttons are "Close" and you need a step 7a "Dismiss the Connection dialog". But the menus stopped working for me too. I had to exit and restart Management Studio to get menu functionality back.
