Tools to create jobs and backup devices

Hi,

I am trying to locate a tools(s) (SQL 2000) that can automate the creation
of jobs and backup devices. I know I can use the maintenance wizard but I
want to be able to see the 'Jobs' and 'Backup' devices in the Management
console so that I may run them manually.

Backup Devices are nothing more than an Alias to a physical file or tape
device. You can not do or see anything with them anyway. As for the MP why
wouldn't you be able to see or run the jobs manually? The MP itself does
not do any of the work, it creates a set of Jobs that do all the work. You
can see and run them just like any other job.
