Hi All,

I am getting the below error while installing sql server 2005 in windows
2000 Server.

The setup has encountered an unexpected error while wizardfirst.
The error is :Fatal error during installation


Kinldy help me in installing the same.

Exactly when does this happen? From which media do you install.

Under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG you can
find the logs from the setup. They may give a clue.

Am trying to install SQL from DVD drive. I have tried both i copied into the
hard drive and installed it gives the same error. Hereby i have attached the
log file.

is late. But a straw: from where did you get the DVD? Could it be a
case of bad media? Do you by chance have a clean install of Windows
that you can try this on?
