SSMS Shortcut behavior

I'm using RTM for SQL 2005 and have noticed a weird and REALLY annoying
issue.

When I get an errors when running an ad-hoc sql statement or a batch, I
sometimes copy and paste all the errors to the window so I can remember
where they all happened.

I would set focus in the results pane, hit CTRL-A to select all and then hit
CTRL-C to copy. But for some reason SSMS likes to delete the results and put
"c". Clearly the CTRL is not being recognized for the second CTRL command.
The workaround is to let go of the CTRL button and then press it again and
hit the c.

Can someone else reproduce this behavior? Is there another workaround or
option that I need to enable for this to work?

Hello,

I have tested it on my side but I didn't reproduce the issue. When I
receive the error message in the SQL server 2005 management studio, I
select all the  error message in the Messages window, then press Ctrl-C, I
can copy the error message into a text file by pressing Ctrl-V
successfully.  To troubleshoot the issue, please provide the detailed steps
to reproduce the issue on the sample AdventureWorks database.

To narrow down the issue, I suggest that you perform the following steps:

1. Test the issue on another machine which has SQL server 2005 installed.
Check if you can reproduce the issue.
2. What is the file extension which you copy the error message into?  Check
if you can reproduce the issue on a  *.txt file.

I hope the information is helpful.

I had lots of these issues after removing the ctrl key to clean out the dirt and then adding it
back. I first thought is was SSMS, but tested in other apps and found the same behavior. After
replacing the keyboard it has been fine. I know I'm stating the obvious here, but just in case...

After looking at it more... It turned out to be my KVM switch. Almost as bad
as having dirt in the key.... Jeez!!

Thanks for you responses!
