There is no "References" in "Extra" - in German like: "Extras / Verweise". What shall I do? it´s almost the same as via the OOM. Please take a look at the object browser, switch from <All Libraries> to <MAPI>. There are the Session.GetDefaultFolder method, and each folder has a Folder collection, too. -- Show quoteViele Grüße Michael Bauer "Ingo Seibold" <inseke-n***@yahoo.de> wrote in message news:cocqsh$o81$05$1@news.t-online.com... > Yes, of course! What is OOM? It seems with CDO you can only search in Default Folders? I want to search in a non-default folder. Session.InfoStores lists all *pst files e.g. InfoStore.RootFolder should be clearly, then you can walk through the hierarchy of folders. Just test it and play with the properties which you can see via the object browser (F2). -- Show quoteViele Grüße Michael Bauer "Ingo Seibold" <inseke-n***@yahoo.de> wrote in message news:cofg0c$nla$02$1@news.t-online.com... > sorry - I'm rather new in VBA. > What is OOM? > > It seems with CDO you can only search in Default Folders? > I want to search in a non-default folder. > > Ingo > > "Michael Bauer" <mi***@t-online.de> schrieb im Newsbeitrag > news:OO1Ds$d1EHA.3840@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > > Hi Ingo, > > > > it´s almost the same as via the OOM. The object browser lists cdoInfoStore, and cdoInfoStores. At least in VBA, most collections you can loop through with For-Each, e.g.: dim obj as InfoStore ' type of collection items. If different types are possible you need to declare As Object for each obj in InfoStores ' do s.th. with the item next One (and maybe the only) InfoStore object e.g. is your *.pst file. Your are looking for a folder hierarchy. In the object browser´s right pane you can see all available methods and properties for an InfoStore object. One of this is called "RootFolder". Click on this item, below the pane you can read a short explanation - even in german. Declare a variable As Mapi.Folder and set it to this RootFolder. Each Folder object has a Folders collection. That is exactly what you need for a hierarchy. Now you can use what you´ve learned about looping through collections again: Loop through this collection and you will get a reference on all available folders on the same level as the Inbox. Ingo, I´m sure, it´s more helpful not giving you a complete example. My best tipp: Start running your code, set a breakpoint (F9) after logon Mapi and open the local window (Views->Local Window). In this window you can see all properties in the scope of that procedure or modul (there are no globally properties). If you´ve declared a variable as Mapi.Session in the procedure, you can see this variable in the local window. For all objects you can open the node and view it´s properties and so on. By this method you can view objects, their childs, the child´s properties etc. IMHO this is an extremly helpful method learning more about any object model - even OL or Mapi. -- Show quoteViele Grüße Michael Bauer "Ingo Seibold" <inseke-n***@yahoo.de> wrote in message news:coq201$8v5$05$1@news.t-online.com... > I think I need an example to use as a template for my exercises... > The object browser lists cdoInfoStore, and cdoInfoStores. > > Ingo > > "Michael Bauer" <mi***@t-online.de> schrieb im Newsbeitrag > news:%23$hu72x1EHA.1296@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > > OOM = Outlook object model. > > > > Session.InfoStores lists all *pst files e.g. InfoStore.RootFolder should > > be clearly, then you can walk through the hierarchy of folders.
