AppointmentItem.ID -- can change?

Hi everyone,

I've been keeping track of AppointmentItems by their .ID property.
Apparently, though, this can change, and not necessarily predictably.
Can someone confirm this? Also, what should I use, now that I can't
count on this?

ID as in Message.ID property in CDO 1.21?
Yes, Outlook 2003 SP2 and higher recreate appointments when you confirm
them.
