Sending email using MAPI to MS exchange from Unix

Hi there,

Is there a library to do this?

I've looked at Brutus - but it looks like overkill. Besides, if i'm
not mistaken, it
runs on Windows and you connect to it using corba from Unix. And I
don't
have admin access to the Exchange machine to run such a beast.

There are a lot of tools to download mail using MAPI but no tools to
SEND
email using MAPI.

Gnome Evolution can access MS Exchange, but does it send mail using
MAPI?

Basically I want to send email just like Outlook does from a
background Unix
process.

Can anyone help?

Hello,

if you just want to send emails, why don't you use SMTP to communicate with
Exchange?

Best regards,
Henning

SMTP happens to route differently in our organization.
It drops mail. We can't fix it - beaurocracy - y`know?

See my reply to Peter below.

I wish to "Send email using the same binary protocol that
Outlook 2003 when connecting to Exchange."

This way, in our organisation, we can be assured
of delivery, whereas any other method does not carry
assurance.

And I mean the political definition of "assurance" not the
technical definition.
