search results dialog box

when i open search from the start menu, i get a listing in the task bar, but
the box cannot be seen. when i click on the task bar block it appears to fly
off the screen to the upper right

That doesn't sound like a .NET Framework issue to me. You might consider
posting to a more appropriate newsgroup.

This newsgroup is for people writing .NET Framework programs. You want a
newsgroup that pertains to end-users of the Windows operating system.

I don't actually know a specific group name, but with that information you
should be able to find an appropriate group.
