Installing games with VistaI am having issues installing a game on my Vista computer and when I look for
driver updates and direct X versions none of them are specific for Vista but XP and OS before it. The game I am trying to install requires the most up to date version of Direct X and I am wondering if there is one just for Vista specifically. The game is Diablo 2 and I am having one hell of a time trying to install it. Everytime I think it is installed the PC restarts itself when I launch the game like it is recovering from an error. I have already contacted the company that makes the game and I am trying out certain methods they are prescribed hoping it will work. Have any of you had any issues trying to install any other games and can give me some advise as well. I heard from a friend that World of Warcraft required a patch just to work with Vista. This just makes me wonder why it is supposed to be more user friendly when it appears to be just a big pain to play games it should be able to support easily and yet it won't install them properly easily.
