CardSpace question...question, another MS MVP sent me here. =) Here is the question I posted in another forum. I hope all y'all can help me out with it. After I installed the newest version of .net, I noticed the 'CardSpace' icon under the User Accounts section of the control panel. When I click on it, my PC pauses for a bit then I get an error stating "class not registered". Another message comes up that tells me to check the event log. I do, and it gives me this under the CardSpace log entry: (Sorry its so long, I copied and pasted the entire text. Hope it means something to someone.) "The Windows CardSpace service is too busy to process this request. User has too many outstanding requests. Additional Information: at System.Environment.GetStackTrace(Exception e, Boolean needFileInfo) at System.Environment.get_StackTrace() at Microsoft.InfoCards.Diagnostics.InfoCardTrace.BuildMessage(InfoCardBaseException ie) at Microsoft.InfoCards.Diagnostics.InfoCardTrace.TraceAndLogException(Exception e) at Microsoft.InfoCards.Diagnostics.InfoCardTrace.ThrowHelperError(Exception e) at Microsoft.InfoCards.UIAgentMonitor.AddNewClient(UIAgentMonitorHandle handle) at Microsoft.InfoCards.UIAgentMonitorHandle.CreateAgent(Int32 callerPid, WindowsIdentity callerIdentity, Int32 tsSessionId) at Microsoft.InfoCards.RequestFactory.CreateClientRequestInstance(UIAgentMonitorHandle monitorHandle, String reqName, IntPtr rpcHandle, Stream inStream, Stream outStream) at Microsoft.InfoCards.RequestFactory.ProcessNewRequest(Int32 parentRequestHandle, IntPtr rpcHandle, IntPtr inArgs, IntPtr& outArgs) For more information, see Help and Support Center at (I deleted the link. It led me to a "this page doesn't exist" page." And there you have it. I have never used CardSpace before. I have read of similar problems on the tablet PC, but thats not what my computer is. I'm using a desktop PC. With Windows XP SP2 if that makes any difference. If you need any more details please feel free to ask. Thank you all for your time. Make sure Framework 3.0 is installed correctly, as that is where CardSpace
comes into play. Then, make sure you have the XP update for CardSpace installed. It is not marked as a critical update, if I remember correctly, so you will have to use Custom updates (either at http://update.microsoft.com or with the auto update panel in XP). I believe that cures all of the issues, at least the ones up until last week. :-) -- Show quoteGregory A.
