I would like to know the Recommended upgrade procedures from Microsoft to 
upgrade from .net to DotNetNuke.

i guess dotnetnuke is a framework .... the migration would be done manually
.... for example ... if your web page has a form ... that would be replaced
by the form creator module ..... grid could be replaced by the grid module
..... but listen .... unless u are sure you know about the limitations of
dotnetnuke ...... donot migrate ur app ..... the classical .net apps are
always rich with the api they expose ....... for dotnetnuke ... you would be
modifying the custom modules every now and then ... if you want simple
website with content managemaent go for dotnetnuke .... but for rich apps
.... stick to classical .net
