CD Burning

After several years of making music cds (.wav), all my cds come out very
distorted. I have been trouble shooting for a month with no luck. I am
running windows xp. I use 4 burning programs, with the same result on all.
If I play music from saved files it sounds great. Just have extreme
distortion on burned cds. I replaced my DVD/CD burner and still had no luck.
Can anyone help me??????
