Virus scan uploaded documents

i am working on a mini document managment application, user selects a
document which is stored in the database, now i am in the process of
programming a virus scan on these documents before they are stored in the
database, some of the suggestions that i got from my previous postings was to
use one of the antivirus softwares(like symatec, trend or Mcafree) , and
seems they come with a console utility which i can use for scanning documents
before saving them in the database.

I purchases Symatec which comes with this console utility Vpscan.exe, i
read some documentation on this and seems that it is not really that intituve
to programmatically use this console utility expecially since it does not
give back the result to the calling application but writes it in a log file.

Has any body of you have personal experice in programming such utilities
with .net, if so woudl be great if you can share your knowledge with me.
