Hi,

I'm missing many New Project types in Visual Studio 2005.  I'm looking
specifically for:  Other Project Types>Database, but all I have under
Other Project Types is Visual Studio Solutions.  Have I skipped
something in the installation?  I have Visual Studio version 8.0 with
..NET Framework version 2.0.  Sorry if this is obvious, but I'm new to
Visal Studio.

Hi Steve,

There are about 5 different versions of Visual Studio 2005, and the
Templates bundled with them vary from one to another. Take a look at the
following and see if you can figure out which Templates come with your
version: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/. If you still have
trouble figuring it out, come on back, let us know which version you have,
and we will help you figure it out.

dialog where you selected from choices like "General Development Settings",
etc.
You might try going to:

Tools->Import and Export Settings...

In the wizard, select the Reset All Settings radio button -> Next

Elect to save current settings or not -> Next

Select General Development Settings from the list.

Then, see if the missing project types appear.

I reset my settings, but to no avail.  I still only have Visual Studio
Solutions in my Other Project Types.  I installed the trial software of
SQL Server 2005 (not the Express Edition).  Version info below:

Unfortunately, I don't recall that selection in "General Development
Settings".  I would reinstall, but I don't believe I can download the
trial software again as I was blocked after several tries while my
wireless connection broke down...
