VS 2005 New Project Types MissingHi,
I'm missing many New Project types in Visual Studio 2005. I'm looking specifically for: Other Project Types>Database, but all I have under Other Project Types is Visual Studio Solutions. Have I skipped something in the installation? I have Visual Studio version 8.0 with ..NET Framework version 2.0. Sorry if this is obvious, but I'm new to Visal Studio. Thanks Steve Hi Steve,
There are about 5 different versions of Visual Studio 2005, and the Templates bundled with them vary from one to another. Take a look at the following and see if you can figure out which Templates come with your version: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/. If you still have trouble figuring it out, come on back, let us know which version you have, and we will help you figure it out. -- Show quoteHTH, Kevin Spencer Microsoft MVP Chicken Salad Shooter http://unclechutney.blogspot.com A man, a plan, a canal, a palindrome that has.. oh, never mind. I'm referring to the dialog where you selected from choices like "General Development Settings", etc. You might try going to: Tools->Import and Export Settings... In the wizard, select the Reset All Settings radio button -> Next Elect to save current settings or not -> Next Select General Development Settings from the list. Then, see if the missing project types appear. -- Peter [MVP Visual Developer] Jack of all trades, master of none. Thanks Peter,
I reset my settings, but to no avail. I still only have Visual Studio Solutions in my Other Project Types. I installed the trial software of SQL Server 2005 (not the Express Edition). I would reinstall, but I don't believe I can download the trial software again as I was blocked after several tries while my wireless connection broke down... pvdg42 wrote: Show quote > "Stevo" <hefferst***@yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:1160761126.156465.191110@m73g2000cwd.googlegroups.com... > > Hi, > > > > I'm missing many New Project types in Visual Studio 2005.
