unwanted network printer switching

We have a small network in our office running Windows 2000 Server. All
machines are running XP-Pro with all the updates. One person has her default
printer set to the printer on her desk. Occasionally, when she prints a
document it goes to another printer on the network. There is no obvious
pattern as to when this happens. When she looks at her printer setup page her
default printer is now the one where the document went to, i.e. not the one
on her desk. How can we stop this?
