.NET initializing error

This post is informative.
I recently faced a major problem as my application were sometime
running and sometimes not with the error .NET initializing Error:
cann'ot find the proper version...

After weeks of madness, i found the problem :
There is a virus called Sality that modifies the PE header, and creates
this major trouble.

It's hard to find since regular Win32 exe does not complain. I found it
when adding some ChecSum check in my program and being alerted someone
changed my file lenght.
