How to design a system with SMS where the system has to send a SMS and
receive SMS...wht type os systemshould i develop?...a web based or a
stand alone type?....pls

do let me know as soon as possible...

First of all, I think you should investigate which sms gateway are you
going to use, at least in spain there are multple gateways and
different opperators that take different commisions for each sms.

You need to decide whether to use an IP based gateway (and those that
support receiving SMS), or your own GSM modem gateway to send/receive
SMS. For IP solutions, you might need to subscribe to a short code
service so that people can 'SMS you'.

For GSM modem solution, there are both free open source and and paid
solutions, try the following links, or search Google for 'sms
