Recommendations on Installer Packages?I've been using the installer projects that come with VS2005 to distribute several projects, but I'd like to hear recommendations
about alternatives. Frankly, the default MS installer wizard that VS2005 ends up producing is kind of ugly (pixelated text, even in the buttons). I don't consider that a fault -- after all, I didn't pay anything for it -- but I'd like something better. Suggestions? - Mark InstallShield is one I have used for earlier versions of Microsoft
products.. I have some friends of mine who have used it with Java, and have given very good product. I would rate it a very good product.. A expensive one though.. It really helps custom deployment easier.. One thing you want to check is though, the pros/cons vs the OneClick offered by VS2005 Vijay Show quote "Mark Olbert" <ChairmanMAO@newsgroups.nospam> wrote in message news:qjt532t08n4t2h4mc3ap3adoms6f9r4n59@4ax.com... > I've been using the installer projects that come with VS2005 to distribute > several projects, but I'd like to hear recommendations > about alternatives. Have you come across a good tutorial and reference on it?>to check is though, the pros/cons vs the OneClick offered by VS2005 - Mark Hi Mark,
Try to search "ClickOnce" in msdn.microsoft.com, and you will get a lot of technical articles about the ClickOnce deployment. Here are some of them. http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/05/clickonce/default.aspx http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t71a733d.aspx Kevin Yu ======= "This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights." |
