how to buildindex for files in registry before registry scan

hi,
we are involved in developing a product similar to registry mechanic.The
registry mechanic during its process of scanning it builds index to all the
files which it scans and we need to perform the same.So,can anyone suggest
what is builinding index in registry mechanic like products.?.Go the link to
download free trail version of registry mechanic.and perform scanning
