need to install 1.0+patches before 2.0?quick question, does .net framework 1.0 + updates have to be installed
prior to install ing .net framework 2.0? it sounds soooooo elementary, but i'm not a programmer and my ati video card requires .net framework to be installed. Wilson. There a three version of dotnet currently. 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 (plus service
packs for the 1.x versions). Which version does your ATI card need? Probably 1.1, since 2.0 just got released last month. But to answer your question; they are indepenent, and no, you don't need to a prior version before installing a newer. They are also backwards compatible (to some extent), so you can probably get away with installing the latest version only. But like I said, I would guess 1.1 is what your ATI software was complied with and is expecting. version 1.1 they would not install. I had to manually remove version 2.0 before I could install the service pack and security update for version 1.1. There have been several reports of this problem.
