Sending signed and/or encrypted mail using Digital ID

Is there a way to use .net to send signed and/or encrypted mail using Digital
ID, (from Verisign for example) ?

If there isn't built in class for this, can I use Interop and CDO to do it ?

Or is there any unmanaged code (open source) which I can call from .Net
which will do it ?
