Easy Question - Oracle Ref CursorsAfternoon all,
Just after confirmation that I can read from an oracle ref_cursor using the Microsoft data connector supplied with Visual Studio 2005 rather that having to get oracles latest ODP offering. Reading other posts here it seems to imply I can but I just need someone to tell me straight. Any comments comparing the 2 technologies and their respective pro's and cons in a real world development environment would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave. Well,
Oracle's ODP will be faster then Microsoft's. A old URL will give you some more idea. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms971518.aspx Regards Show quote "Knickerless Parsons" wrote: > Afternoon all, > Just after confirmation that I can read from an oracle ref_cursor > using the Microsoft data connector supplied with Visual Studio 2005 > rather that having to get oracles latest ODP offering. > > Reading other posts here it seems to imply I can but I just need > someone to tell me straight. > > Any comments comparing the 2 technologies and their respective pro's > and cons in a real world development environment would also be greatly > appreciated. > > Thanks in advance, > Dave. > > |
