I want to use OLEDB to open .BTR files.
They should (afaik) be opened using pervasive but i don't know how.
The computer using this can work with Exact but the connection link dialog
does not show desired driver.
Unless i am wrong.
I seen www.connectionstrings.com  but the example was not accepted.

The Pervasive Btrieve drivers can be downloaded at their site
www.pervasive.com/downloads.  You will need the DDF files in order to
access the data using OLEDB.  If you do not have these you can check
out BtSearch at www.nssdd.com to help you analyze the structure and
build the DDF files.

We installed Exact on a test pc today (local installation)
And the pervasive OLEDB driver was available.
I was able to load 'tables' but the select query was not accepted.
Could there be a similar issue as reading XLS files like ...$ or maybe the
brackets are not allowed or so?
Currently i used a fixed tool and i'll have to modify this tool for btrieve
then.
Maybe a few hints how to query a table's data if possible?

There is a ddl file yes..
It would be nice if i could read the btrieve data without to much overhead,
like not using pervasive (what an idiotic name!) at all.

Thanks,

Pervasive is the company that purchased Btrieve around 8 years ago.
You must use it to access your files.  It is the record manager and
without it you will not be able to read your data.  If you have the DDF
files then that is good.  Using the Pervasive Control Panel you may be
able to link to your files to view your data.
