McAfee VirusScan 8.0 & (ADO).Net

Hi,

I've got a spurious problem that occurs when I'm running McAfee AntiVirus
8.0, but works fine when that is not running (& I'm disconnected from the
network)

My application is written in VB.Net, using .Net Framework 1.1 (with hotfix
KB886903).

My PC has lots of stuff installed on it (inherited from a previous
employee), including Altiris.

I have also run my application with McAfee running but disconnected from the
network, and it produces inconsistent results again.

So there may be other applications which behave differently when off the
network, which may also be affecting my app, but McAfee is definitely having
a adverse effect.

Needless to say, my application is completely contained on my local PC, and
I am running it the same was every test run.

I know previously McAfee has previously had to produce a patch for another
ADO.Net, but at least that problem was far more obvious.

Does anyone have similar experience?

Thanks
Martin

Hmm,

Seems getting my app to run for 90 minutes with consistent results while
McAfee was disabled, was not proof of McAfee interference.  More testing
required.

I'm now thinking Garbage collection or temporary table management in SQL.

More Testing...
