SQL Server 2000 and Sql Server 2005 on same machineHi Gurus,
Is it ok to install both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 on the same system without any problem. We just want to have some ideas before implementing it. Thanks for any help you can provide. Dan Hai Dan
I do no why required for such a thing but the first thing u need to take care of system performance why because MSsql2005 reqired 512MB ram . I not trusting to install both in the same machine. workstation and a 2003 Server without problems. Remember to make SQL2005 a named instance or it will upgrade your SQL 2000 instead. If you install 2000 as default and
then install 2005, it will overwrite. If you install one, or the other (or both), as an instance (not default), you are fine. -- Show quoteGregory A.
